Morning and Evening Game drives are conducted daily in open safari vehicles, by expertly trained guides. Bush walks, bird watching, astronomy, bush breakfasts and dinners, river walks, safari lunches, boma dinners, wildlife lectures, visits to historically significant sites, local village experiences and wellness treatments are some of the many additional activities available to guests at Tinga.

The Kruger Park was first proclaimed in 1898 by the then president of the Transvaal Republic, Paul Kruger. Major James Stevenson-Hamilton was appointed the first warden in 1902 and many accounts of the park’s early days can be found in the Stevenson-Hamilton Memorial Library at Skukuza Restcamp, which can be visited from Tinga. There are over 250 known cultural sites in the Kruger Park including nearly 130 recorded rock art sites and ample evidence that prehistoric man roamed the area between 100 000 and 500 000 years ago. There are also many historical tales of the presence of Nguni people and European settlers in the Kruger area and significant ruins at Thulamela and Masorini both of which can be visited when staying at Tinga.

If you want to escape from real life and enjoy a sophisticated and serene getaway – Tinga is where you need to go!
