Shishangeni Private Concession
Kruger National Park, South Africa

The Shishangeni Private Concession area spans some 15 000 hectares within the world famous Kruger National Park and is home to three different camps – Shishangeni Private Lodge, Camp Shawu and Camp Shonga.

The Reserve offers excellent game viewing opportunities and is home to Africa’s ‘Big 5’ – lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino as well as numerous other wild animals, reptiles and over 500 different bird species including amongst others The Giant Eagle Owl, Kingfishers, Storks, Eagles, Vultures and many more.  Guided Game drives conducted by experienced and knowledgeable rangers are offered twice daily, in the early morning and late afternoon.

Shishangeni benefits from a favourable climate all year round with predominantly warm sunny days and cool nights while the Mpumalanga province where the Kruger National Park is located is divided into the Highveld – consisting mainly of high-altitude grassland and the Lowveld – situated in a low altitude, subtropical area, with mostly savanna habitat. Shishangeni is located in the southern section of Kruger National Park in what is known as the Lowveld.

All three lodges at Shishangeni, although each offering a different experience provide guests with excellent service, superior cuisine, luxurious accommodation and world class game viewing opportunities. The main focus at Shishangeni is on nature where there is a continual striving to create the optimum balance between people and the environment, while having a minimal impact on the surrounding habitat. Guests will leave feeling restored and rejuvenated having absorbed a magical presence and a spiritual energy from the bush.

Guests can arrange to book a relaxation massage with one of a team of therapists offering Aromatherapy Massages, Indian Head and Foot Massages - these can be enjoyed either on the balconies or in the privacy of one’s own room. Golf can be played at the Skukuza Golf Course, an unfenced course within the Kruger National Park providing golfers with a unique, close-to-nature golfing experience. The lodges are children-friendly and baby sitters can be arranged on request, while weddings and team building activities are also catered for
