Springbok Lodge offers visitors a different style of camping. The tented suites are elevated and appointed in such a way as to allow guests expansive views over the bush - visitors are often able to watch the passing wildlife from their own private viewing decks. The luxury tents are air conditioned in the warm summer months and heated during the colder winter months, with electric blankets for extra warmth and comfort. Each of the en-suite tents have their own viewing deck with comfortable chairs, a king size bed (twin bed option available), tea & coffee making facilities, hairdryers and safety deposit boxes. Two of the tents, adjacent to the lodge are equipped with access ramps rather than stairs, catering for those with wheelchairs or mobility challenges. The main lodge and boma are also accessible by wheelchair and the lodge boasts a uniquely designed wheelchair accessible plunge pool.

Meals at Springbok Lodge can be enjoyed in the main dining area or on fine summer evenings and balmy winter nights dinners can be arranged around a crackling fire in the boma. Bush breakfasts are exciting and different and involve packing up everything and setting up a ‘kitchen’ in a scenic spot within the reserve – an unforgettable experience.
Nambiti Game Reserve offers magnificent game viewing and the twice daily open vehicle game drives are a must! Personal guides who are experienced and knowledgeable ensure guests will get the most out of their experience. A wide range of animals including elephant, rhino, hippo, buffalo, cheetah, giraffe, zebra, warthog and numerous other antelope species can be seen in the reserve. The birdlife is prolific with over 250 different species recorded. The area is also rich in biodiversity, with thornveld and Acacia trees complementing extensive grasslands, which mirror the plains of central Africa. Nambiti benefits from an abundant natural water system, with perennial rivers and a beautiful waterfall cascading down the Sundays Rivers – creating a unique sanctuary which attracts several rare bird species and an array of raptors and vultures.

The Kwa Cheetah, Cheetah Rehabilitation and Interaction programme located within Nambiti Game Reserve offers visitors the opportunity of getting up close and personal with these majestic cats.

Springbok Lodge is ideally positioned on the main route between Johannesburg and Durban and is not only an ideal safari destination but can also be used as a base for exploring the surrounding countryside. The lodge is situated in a battlefields rich area where Zulu, Boer and British forces once clashed over land and sovereignty. The sites of Elandslaagte, Ladysmith, Spionkop, Vaalkrans, Wagonhill, Tugela Heights, Clouston, Colenso and Talana are all nearby. The world renowned Isandlwana, Rorkes Drift and Blood River sites are also easily accessible and professional guided tours of these sites can be arranged with registered guides. For the avid golfer – there are 3 nearby golf courses in Ladysmith, Estcourt and at Cathedral Peak. Adventure activities in the area include Canopy Tours, White River Rafting and Kayaking, Mountain Boarding, Mountain Biking, Fly fishing and Horseriding. The breathtaking Drakensberg Mountains, a world heritage site are about an hour’s drive away. Massage therapists can be arranged and offer reflexology, full body, back and neck or Indian head massage treatments which are enjoyed in the privacy of one’s tent or out on the deck.

Springbok Lodge offers visitors an unforgettable ‘Out of Africa’ safari experience in every aspect - from the elevated tented suites offering panoramic vistas and opulence in the African bush to superb game viewing experiences within a 20 000 acre, Big 5, private Game Reserve.
